Project Health-In-Motion with SMU Sports Union Students (2024)

LEARNING JOURNEY: OCTOBER 2023

As part of their partnership with SMU Centre for Social Responsibility, students from the Sports Union came on our learning journey to be equipped for their projects with the community.

I like the interactiveness and really deepening our knowledge into the daily life experiences every migrant worker faces.
— John, Year 2 SMU Student

LIGHT EXERCISES AT SMU CAMPUS: NOVEMBER 2023

After attending our learning journey, the students launched their series of engagements on campus grounds, starting with light stretching and exercises

GAMES AT CHANDER RD: DECEMBER 2023

Thank you also to the Moulmein-Cairnhill committee for partnering with us to provide a space in the Little India neighbourhood for students and workers to interact through games!

OUTDOOR WALKS IN PARKS: DECEMBER-JANUARY 2024

The next 2 outings were at East Coast Park and Rifle Range Park with time spent in nature as requested by the migrant workers!

Before volunteering, I had no interactions with migrant workers. Now I have a deeper appreciation for their resilience and humanity. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them and playing games together!
— Sharon, Year 2 SMU Student

The series of engagements ended with a language exchange and a school campus tour to let their new migrant friends experience what a day in their student life is like!
